Inn & Surrounding Areas
All of our rooms come with a unique theme that showcases an element of the Inn at the Lake & the surrounding areas. Check out the different room styles below.
Room 101 is dedicated to the previous owners, David & Rosie Whitelock. This is a cozy standard king room that was fully renovated in 2020. It is on the first floor with a microwave & refrigerator.
American Basin Room
Room 102 is dedicated to the American Basin. The American Basin is located in the Gunnison National Forest and is a high alpine basin at an elevation of 12,365 feet surrounded by vertical cliffs. During the summer months, there are spectacular displays of wildflowers. This room is located on the first floor and has a queen bed and twin bunk beds.
Lake San Cristobal Room
Room 103 is dedicated to the amazing lake that sits in front of the Inn, Lake San Cristobal. Every room has a view of this lake. This room has a queen and a double bed on the first floor. (This room will be converted to a queen and a twin trundle bed as of June 2021)
North Clear Creek Falls Room
Room 104 is dedicated to North Clear Creek Falls which is a dramatic waterfall near Lake City. In its peak spring and summer season, this waterfall rages over the cliffside. This room is located on the first floor and has a two queen beds.
Deer Lakes Room
Room 105 is dedicated to a group of lakes called Deer Lakes close to Lake City. They have gained their name because most evenings you can catch sight of deer & moose around the lakes. This is a deluxe king room on the end of the first floor with a microwave and a refrigerator.
Big Blue Fly Fishing Room
Room 201 is dedicated to inspiring fly fishing at Big Blue Creek near Lake City. Fishermen will find a variety of fish including rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and brook trout. This is a standard king room on the second floor with a microwave & refrigerator.
Alpine Loop Room
Room 202 is dedicated to the Alpine Loop, which is a popular 4WD route that winds through the high country up and over Cinnamon Pass, then down to Animas Forks ghost mining town, then rising again over spectacular Engineer Pass and back to Lake City. This is a room with two queen beds on the second floor.
Handies Peak Room
Room 203 is dedicated to Handies Peak. Handies Peak is a high and prominent mountain summit of the San Juan range in the Rocky Mountains of North America standing at 14,048ft. This room is located on the second floor and has a queen bed and twin bunk beds.
The Colorado Trail Room
Room 204 is dedicated to The Colorado Trail, which is a premier backcountry (567 miles) trail that passes near Lake City, CO. This room has a two queen beds and is on the second floor.
Room 205 is dedicated to Uncompahgre Peak (14,321-ft) which is the sixth highest summit of the Rocky Mountains of North America and the U.S. state of Colorado. This is our most spacious room and has the best views with two windows that overlook the lake. It is located at the end of the second floor and has a king bed, a microwave, and a refrigerator.
